Tech Armour may sound daunting to some, but in the long run it's helping you with anywhere between 35%/40%/45%/50% damage reduction and 30% increased power damage, which is a fair trade for 50%/30% increased cooldown time - not as bad as it sounds (e.g. But that's not as bad as it sounds, because Tech Armour can be evolved to boost the damage & force of your powers by 30%. Tech Armour no longer detonates itself and instead of doubling your shield, reduces damage by a percentag, also slows down power use by 50% (no, not half, think 50% as in carry capacity 50%), which can be decreased to 30% and that can be negated with a few bits of intel and armour pieces. In ME3, Sentinel's a bit different, especially if you got used to having Assault Armour, which you no longer have. You already have Overload and Warp, so Energy Drain and Reave are the exception, as they'd be redundant, since they're basically weaker versions of Overload and Warp. Throw and Cryo Blast are less useful, Cryo Blast being probably your least useful skill.īonus powers don't really matter for Sentinels as much as they do for the other classes, so you can pick whatever you want - if you want higher weapon damage, pick an ammo power, if you want more tricks, pick a biotic or tech power. Between Warp and Overload, you'll have tools for everything you come across. Sentinel is my second favourite class after the Vanguard in ME2 and ME3. Sentinel eats things on insanity in all three games. On top of that, you still have warp and throw for the most damaging biotic explosions, cryo blast for a debuff, and overload to wreck shields and tech bursts. So here, you'll be a walking tank with around 80% damage reduction under the right conditions. But now it gives you the best damage reduction in the game, and taking reave will add even more protection on top of that. Tech armor needs to be detonated manually, and doing so will cause a cooldown, so you can't rely on it as much from an offensive standpoint. In ME3, the tech armor was nerfed a bit, but the sentinel still really powerful. Invest a point or three into cryo blast for any krogan or varren that run your way. Energy drain and tech armor will be your bread and butter, and warp is always useful. Choosing assault shield causes you to regenerate half of your shields when your tech armor detonates, so you can play almost as aggressively as a vanguard. Once you activate tech armor, it will detonate if your shields are destroyed, doing a large amount of AOE damage around Shepard. In ME2, tech armor is nearly game breaking with its utility once you max it out. Take warp as your bonus talent, and you'll be shutting down any enemy using immunity. But with access to decryption and overload, you have a lot more power damage at your disposal than the adept. In ME1 you're almost as overpowered as the adept thanks to the bastion specialization. Sentinel is amazing in all three games, and is probably my second favorite class, the first being infiltrator.
